Fall decorating doesn’t have to mean buying an entirely new collection of decorations. For this Hello Pumpkin Fall Tree, I combined inexpensive Dollar Tree finds with ribbon, fall picks and a couple of special pieces I already owned to create a warm autumn look in shades of burnt orange, burgundy, cream and gold.
The pumpkins throughout the tree and the “Hello Pumpkin” sign were purchased at Dollar Tree. These are exactly the kinds of seasonal decorations I like to look for because they are inexpensive, easy to store and can be reused in many different ways. After the tree comes down, the pumpkins could easily become part of a Thanksgiving centerpiece, mantel display or fall tablescape.
The two little farmer figures were previously purchased at World Market. They add a little personality to the tree without making the design feel overly themed.
Using Ribbon to Pull the Colors Together
Ribbon made the biggest difference in finishing this tree. I combined deep burgundy with warm gold and burnt-orange-and-cream pumpkin ribbon. Instead of wrapping ribbon continuously around the tree, I tucked shorter sections into the branches. This uses less ribbon and makes it much easier to reposition and reuse later.
The large layered bow at the top repeats the same colors and patterns used throughout the tree, helping the topper feel connected to the rest of the design.
Adding Fall Picks
Orange berry and pumpkin picks fill some of the spaces between the larger decorations and carry the burnt-orange color from the top of the tree all the way to the bottom.
You don’t need very many. About five strategically placed picks are enough to create movement and color without covering the greenery.

Budget Tip: Before purchasing everything new, check your existing fall and Thanksgiving decorations. Pumpkins, berry sprays, ribbon, baskets, and small seasonal figures can often be reused on a Celebration Tree and then returned to wreaths, tables, or other fall displays later in the season.
